1.How do I prevent hairfall?

Hair fall can be because of various reasons - breakage in long hair, wrong shampoo, wrong hair products or the wrong hair style. If the main reason is dandruff; choose a dandruff shampoo that suits your hair and use it everyday to get rid of it. If your hair is too long, cut it short to a manageable length. You could also try massaging your hair with warm oil , since warm oil helps absorb moisture better; or go for hair packs. A good massage not only boosts blood circulation to the scalp, but also relaxes you. A healthy diet rich in green leafy vegetables, milk, dry fruits and nuts, yogurt, fresh juicy fruits etc is highly recommended and will help tremendously to improve your hair and make it grow thicker, stronger and healthier. Pick the right hair product as well.

2. How can I make my hair look voluminous?

Opt for layering. A layering hairstyle gives a thick and fuller look to your hair. It gives it a bounce as well. You could even try leave-in or spray conditioners as they make your hair look fuller. For a long term solution, you could aim to make your hair thicker, or you can try to blow dry your hair. Check out other ways to make your hair look voluminous.

3. How do I get shiny, silky hair?

For shiny hair: Try a pack of egg whites, amla, reetha (dry soap nuts) and shikakai extracts (easily available at your nearest grocery store). Soak reetha nuts overnight, crush them into a paste, apply it on your tresses and keep it for around 15-20 minutes before rinsing it off. Jerome suggests that you could also try and use Kerastase Bain Oleo-Relax smoothing shampoo and conditioner. This shampoo and conditioner will add extra shine and help manage your hair properly without creating frizz.

4. I have combination hair. During summer, after shampooing and applying hair serum, my hair looks limp. Please help.

The shampoo that you are using might not be the right one. Use a mild PH balanced shampoo to take care of your oily scalp and use a hydrating leave-in conditioner on your strands. Hair may look limp due to excessive use of conditioners and serum. Serums are meant to be used in extremely small quantities. Here are other ways you can take care of combination hair.

5. Is rebonding advisable?

Rebonding is not recommended as it damages your hair. Relaxing treatment is a better option if you want hair that looks straight naturally. It uses less chemicals too. However, do consult with a hair expert before you go for any kind of hair treatment. Read this before you opt for rebonding.

6. How to tackle split ends?

Go for trims every four to six weeks and pamper your hair with spa treatments according to your hair type. Try protein packs to strengthen your hair. Include lot of protein in your diet too.

7. How to get rid of dandruff?

Dandruff is nothing but sheading of dead skin cells from the scalp, pollution, grease and sweat accumulated on your hair. You must get rid of it. You need to shampoo your hair everyday with a good anti-dandruff shampoo for your hair. Also make sure your diet is healthy. Avoid junk food and fried food. Jerome suggests a hair spa ritual once a month. Go for the Purifying Ritual wherein a tube called peeling purifante is used which works like an exfoliation for your scalp. The tiny granules of the product helps in peeling away the accumulated dead cells on your scalp.

8.Please suggest hair care tips for coloured hair.

Coloured or treated hair needs special care. Shampoo gently with a shampoo specially created for coloured or treated hair. Rough shampooing can strip off the colour or dry your locks. Condition regularly with an intensive conditioner to restore moisture making it lustrous. Use colour enhancing conditioners as your hair grows. Do not wrap your hair in a towel after washing it. It can cause knots. Instead, carefully blot the extra water. Also go for spa regular spa treatments as recommended by your stylist.

9. Can you condition oily hair? How often should it be conditioned?

Henna is the best conditioner for oily scalp/hair and this can be done every fortnight. Leave the pack on for ten minutes before washing it off

10.My hair is thin and weak. What should I do?

If your hair is weak, try and stick to shoulder length hair. And go for layers. This will help you keep your hair healthy and will make it look voluminous. Try to keep your hair free of split ends. Split ends tend to weaken your hair. Read here about other signs of unhealthy hair.

With a healthy lifestyle, you will always have lustrous and luscious looks!
