Style Tips For Your 'Apple’ Shaped Body.

With the range of designs available in traditional wear, there are many patterns you can try. If you have a heavy waist, here is what you can try in the special occasion.
Anarkali’s are one of the best picks for an ‘Apple’ shaped body. They help hide your midriff and are also in fashion. Pick one that suet most to you. Another option is to don an empire waist kurti that falls till your knees. Complement it with a sleek churidar and you’re set to grab attention.
While choosing a kameez, pick one that ends around your midriff. A fashion tip is to try out tops with a deep neck cut or off shoulders, to divert attention from your waist.
Another option is to complement your attire with long traditional jackets. Carry them in shades like gold for a glamorous look.

This apple shaped people should focus on dark colored trousers that create a clean, straight line from hip to ankle rather than extremely tailored or have a tight fit. They should fit loosely (which is not the same as baggy) to give your silhouette a smoothness that will enhance your outfit.
A monochromatic color scheme really works well for an apple body shape. Wearing the same colors on the top and bottom creates a clean, straight line that lengthens and slims the overall silhouette of the body.

The best way to be expressive with this look is to mix up the fabrics.
Try a combo of cotton and chiffon for a fun, light, flirty look. For a more serious look, try a sold-colored,tweed suit. On the other hand, you can try wearing two different variations on one color. For example, dark blue on bottom and a lighter blue on top still gives you the same straight line and let's you vary your style just a little.

Best to avoid:
Short, boxy jackets and pleated or tiered skirts are not your friends. Cast them out now and feel forever better.

Mineral make-up

You have heard about it and perhaps went right ahead and bought some to add to your collection. We are talking about mineral make-up and here's all the low down about this beauty essential

What is it?
It's basically make-up that is natural and is made of crushed minerals some of which are iron oxides, zinc oxide and titanium dioxide. To test the authenticity of mineral make-up products check for a loose powdery texture.

So it's a new fad?
It IS a new fad, but mineral make-up has been around for centuries. In fact the ancient Egyptians used mineral make-up. Classical Indian dancers have always used mineral make-up. Kajal, in its most natural form would be considered mineral make-up too.

But then again cosmetic giants have just reclaimed it for its own and launched a mineral foundation…so it seems like its something brand new! It's very popular in Morocco, and even the Arab countries.

Is it good?
For starters, genuine mineral make-up is natural, so yes it is good for you.

* It's lightweight so you don't feel like you have multiple layers of make-up.
* They contain Vitamin A and E for better skin protection.
* Doesn't clog your pores and lets your skin breathe. So even if you have skin eruptions it's safe to use mineral make-up.
* Mineral make-up provides good sun protection

Should you use it?
Mineral make up is fabulous if you have relatively good skin to begin with. For example, a mineral-based foundation will provide good coverage it is not concealer and will not cover all your flaws. Also, you need to blend it really well so you're your skin doesn't look blotchy.

What type of Sari shoots your body features

Here’s your guide on choosing the best saris that will enhance your body shape beautifully. The trick is to know how to accentuate the ‘right’ parts and how to hide the flaws.

Pear-shaped
Pear-shaped women are ‘blessed’ with a larger lower body which means wide hips and small bust. The whole idea is to shift focus to your upper body. “Go for busy print saris which tend to camouflage your broad hips. Also opt for dark colours like bottle green and dark blue,” says Mumbai-based stylist Pria Agni. Avoid mermaid cuts; you don’t want your hips to look bigger than they actually are!

Apple-shaped
Apple-shaped women just have it the other way round – slim hips, fuller bust and a big torso. "Wear V-neck blouses as they make your upper body look slimmer. The Bengali style sari looks best on an apple-shaped body type" says fashion designer Priti Mehta. And yes, don’t go for frills in the neckline because they scream for attention!“Unless you are totally fit, avoid plain chiffon saris as they just draw attention to the silhouette” says Pria. So, let’s just save those plain chiffon saris for the Yash Raj actresses, shall we?

Big arms
You have big arms and you’re obviously not proud of them. We suggest going for interesting blouses to conceal those flabby arms! “Full sleeves and bell-shaped blouses are recommended for women with big arms. And thanks to Sabyasachi, they are back in vogue” adds Pria. Now you can chuck those halter neck, sleeveless and cap sleeved blouses as they are a complete no-no for you!

Broad shoulders
We’re sorry but puffed sleeves on the other hand won’t do any good for those with broad shoulders. Go for wide necklines and short sleeves that help distract from broad shoulders.
Pria suggests“A specially cut mermaid petticoat which flares down till the heels is good for women with broad shoulders. It visually reduces broad shoulders.Wear midriff saris and avoid one shouldered blouses and corsets."

Are you skinny?
While everyone’s complaining about hiding their ‘flaws’, you yearn for a fuller look. Wear organza, fluffy or tissue saris that add volume."Low cut blouses or corsets would be good for the skinny body type as they create a fuller silhouette. These saris are better worn low waist and they shouldn't look too straight or flat as the idea is to show curves." says Priti.

Petite yet plump
If you’re short and fat, don’t worry. Turn to long chunky necklaces and earrings that help to create an illusion of height. And if you have a body like Shilpa Shetty’s (read: perfect), wear more georgettes and go ahead flaunt your curves!
